RESUMO
O artigo a seguir abordará o trabalho do Assistente Social no que diz respeito ao sistema prisional feminino, enfatizando a maternidade e presença de crianças nesse ambiente. O
Serviço Social é uma profissão de intervenção social, que tem como intuito detectar situações de carência e exclusão social. No sistema prisional feminino, no que tange à maternidade, não é diferente, este profissional tem como preocupação central a mãe e a criança, promovendo sua segurança, garantindo a liberdade individual e a sua autonomia.
Durante o artigo abordaremos o que a constituição brasileira nos relata sobre o fato das mães permanecerem com seus filhos seis meses após o nascimento, uma questão particularmente problemática, e a utilização do relatório social, um dos instrumentos integrantes do exame criminológico, que se traduz na apresentação descritiva e interpretativa de uma questão social.

ABSTRACT

The following paper discusses the job made by the Social Worker regarding the women and the prison system, covering maternity and presence of children in that environment. The
Social work is a profession of social intervention, which intends to detect situations of necessity and social exclusion. In the women’s prison, in regard to motherhood, is not different; this individual has as a central concern both mother and child, promoting safety, ensuring individual freedom and autonomy. During the following paper we will approach also what the Brazilian constitution tells us about the law, which permits the mothers stay six months with her children after birth, an issue particularly problematic, and the use of social reports, members of the instruments of criminological examination, which is reflected in the presentation of a descriptive and interpretive social issue.
