6195 Serviceability is a state in which the function of a building, its appearance,
6196 maintainability, durability, and comfort of its occupants are preserved under
6197 normal usage. Limiting values of structural behavior for serviceability (e.g.,
6198 maximum deflections, accelerations) shall be chosen with due regard to the
6199 intended function of the structure. Serviceability shall be evaluated using
6200 appropriate load combinations for the appropriate serviceability limit states
6201 identified.
