Tratamento e Disposicão Final de Resíduos
RESUMO
Este artigo apresenta um estudo de caracterização dos resíduos sólidos coletados pelo município de Pato Branco, PR, onde a deposição final dos resíduos é feita em um lixão a céu aberto, contaminando o solo, águas e com prévia separação e reciclagem inexpressivas. Os resultados encontrados mostram que Pato Branco necessita de um amplo estudo da disposição final e reciclagem de seus resíduos sólidos, criando com isso não somente a visão de preservação do meio ambiente, mas também retorno financeiro a catadores, carrinheiros e até mesmo para a prefeitura, na redução de custos com saúde pública. Os resultados indicaram que com a separação dos resíduos o material reciclável pode gerar valores de aproximadamente R$ 45.000,00 mensais, e o volume lançado no lixão se reduziria de 41.664,285 m3 para 17.408,675 m3 ao ano, dobrando a vida útil de um futuro aterro sanitário. ABSTRACT
This article presents a study of characterization of the urban solid residues of the city of Pato Branco, PR, where the final disposal of the rests residues is made in an open landfill, infecting the soil, water and with previous separation and inexpressive recycling, increasing, thus, the volume of trash thrown. The obtained results show that, Pato Branco needs another way of final disposal, environmentally correct, as a landfill and recycling of its solid residues, creating with this not only the vision of the environmental preservation, but also a financial return to garbagemen and even to the city hall, with reduction of costs in public health. The results indicated that with the separation of the rests residues, the recyclable materials can approximately generate values of R$ 45,000.00 monthly and the volume launched in the landfill would reduce from 41.664,285 m3 to 17.408,675 m3 in a year, doubling the useful life of a future landfill.
