Paramore is an alternative rock band, formed in Franklin, Tennessee (United States) in 2004. The band became famous in many countries with hits like "That's What You Get", "Misery Business", "Decode," Emergency ",among others.
After some changes, the band now consists of Hayley Williams (vocals and keyboard), Josh Farro (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jeremy Davis (bass), Zac Farro (drums) and Taylor York (rhythm guitar).
In 2002, when he was thirteen years old, vocalist Hayley Williams moved from her hometown Meridian, Mississippi to Franklin, Tennessee where she met brothers Josh and Zac Farro inschool. Shortly after arriving, she began taking vocal lessons with Brett Manning. Prior to forming Paramore, however, Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis took part in a band called The Factory, while the Farro brothers had practiced together after school. The band was officially Formed by Josh Farro (guitar and vocals), Zac Farro (drums), Jeremy Davis (bass) and Hayley Williams (lead vocals) in2004, with the later addition of Williams' neighbor Jason Bynum (rhythm guitar) . They took the name Paramore, which is derived from the name of a former bassist of the time when they still played in the garage, once the group learned the meaning of the word paramour ("secret lover"), which sounds identical to name chosen, they decided to adopt the name, using the Paramore spelling. The band's firstsong that was written together was "Conspiracy", which was later used on their debut album.
During the following years, Paramore performed at venues outside the greater Nashville area, including the concert festivals Purple Door and Warped Tour. John Janick, CEO and co-founder of record label Fueled by Ramen, we heard the band and went to a concert to hear them live. After a short presentationin a warehouse, the band signed with the label in April 2005.
The band traveled back to Orlando to record their debut album All We Know Is Falling, but shortly after, Davis chose to leave the band citing personal reasons. The other members continued recording the album, writing "All We Know" about the departure of Davis.
The album also reflected the pain of loss as Williams explains, "Thecouch (on the cover of All We Know Is Falling) with no one there and the shadow walking away, is about Jeremy leaving us and us feeling like we had a space empty ". Recording for All We Know Is Falling took three weeks, and promotional material for the album only featured the four remaining members. Before touring, the band added John Hembree (bass) to replace Davis. During that summer, Paramore wasfeatured on the Shira Girl Stage of the 2005 Warped Tour. On being asked by the band, Davis returned to Paramore after five months apart. All We Know Is Falling was released on July 24, 2005 and reached # 30 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart.
Paramore began recording their second album Riot! in January 2007, ending production in March without the guitar of Hunter Lamb (who left the band inearly 2007 to marry); without Lamb, lead guitarist Farro was required to play both guitar parts on the album.
Lamb has since been replaced by guitarist Taylor York, who had been in a band with the Farro brothers before the two met Williams. After being courted by producers Neal Avron and Howard Benson, Paramore opted to record Riot! with New Jersey producer David Bendeth (Your Vegas, BreakingBenjamin), releasing the album on June 12, 2007. Riot! entered at # 20 on the Billboard 200 and # 24 on the UK charts. The album sold 44,000 copies in its first week in the United States. The name Riot! had been chosen because it meant "a sudden outburst of uncontrolled emotion", and it was a word that "summed it all up." The album's first single, released on June 21, 2007, "Misery Business", is,...
