Abstract
This work is an application of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) tools, to help identifying the core problem in a graduation course of a University.
The TOC has developed tools to deal with “non-physical” constraints. This set of tools, named Thinking Processes (TP), is used to manage new constraints that occur, in a way that the TOC turns to be not only a tool applicable to production systems but it becomes a management philosophy.
The TP are composed by five tools: the Current Reality Tree (CRT), the
Evaporating Cloud Technique (ECT), the Future Reality Tree (FRT), the Prerequisite Tree
(PRT) and the Transition Tree (TT).
This work proposes to use the CRT to identify the core problem in the Business
Administration course at UNOESC, campus Chapecó.
By following CRT’s steps was identified what to change, the core problem responsible for most of the undesirable effects that take place in an organization.

1. Introdução :

Eliyahu M. Goldratt, começou a ser incubada nos anos 70 quando ele desenvolveu um software para o planejamento de produção. Este software, denominado OPT (optimized production tecnology), deu origem à TOC.
Na segunda metade dos anos 80, Goldratt ampliou a Teoria das Restrições, que passou a ser uma filosofia de gerenciamento, deixando o campo restrito da produção e buscando a otimização da organização como um todo.
