Important tools of the internet for learning and teaching foreign languages
Access to internet for learning and teaching foreign languages offers many possibilities to expand and improve what is done in the classroom.
Two of these possibilities are the virtual classroom and blogs. Let's see a little more about these two important tools below.

 The virtual classroom: Online learning
The virtual classroom is an interactive learning environment with multiple functions, where the student can learn and interact, all monitored by the tutor, daily.
This resource is used in situations that the students' learning takes place wholly or partly online.
Importantly, this tool is good for the distance learning situations, when the teacher and students cannot be in the same “real” space. So it may be useful for training courses for teachers, because the use of this resource breaks down barriers of time, cost and geographical distance.
The course content is stored on the network, where students can access it and also make online activities such as quizzes, tests and questionnaires. Some virtual classrooms also include interactive activities such as discussion boards, blogs and chat rooms.
There are four principles for successful teaching in the virtual classroom such as media richness, timely responsiveness, organization and interaction.

 Blogs

Nowadays, many blogs are used in teaching language and providing real motivators for writing and reading. This resource provides an opportunity to be possible communication between the writer and a variety of readers. The ability to post comments means that the interaction can be immediate and stimulating. Blogs also give a sense of community, that all participants are sharing common interests.
