RESUMO:
Este trabalho pretende fazer uma análise, à luz da pós-modernidade, de uma família de classe média alta representada no conto “Passeio Noturno” de Rubem Fonseca.
Considerando a família uma das instituições divinas, pela qual o Senhor oferece promessas de bênçãos, esse conto é uma oportunidade de se refletir a respeito do que a família tem se tornado. O conto narra a trajetória de um empresário que sai a noite com seu carro importado, um jaguar, para atropelar pessoas pobres e indefesas, como forma de aliviar o estresse do dia-a-dia; enquanto isso, sua família está envolvida em futilidades, sem desconfiar, ou pelo menos se importar, com os objetivos dos passeios noturnos desse chefe da família. Vê-se, então, a alienação, o isolamento e a fragmentação do sujeito pós-moderno na célula básica da formação da sociedade, a família.

ABSTRACT:
The present study intends to analyze, in post-modernity light, a high middle class family represented in Rubem Fonseca's story " Passeio Noturno." Considering the family one of the divine institutions, from which the Lord offers promises of blessings, this story is an opportunity to reflect about, and to contemplate, what the family is turning to. The story narrates the trajectory of a businessman who goes out at night with his imported car, a Jaguar, to run over poor and defenseless people, as way to relieving the daily stress; meanwhile, his family is involved in trivialities, without distrusting, or at least caring about, with the objectives of his night “walks”. Then, the

alienation, the isolation and the post-modern person's fragmentation can be seen in the basic cells of the society formation, the family.
