RESUMO
Faz-se uma síntese das principais produções historiográficas que tratam o tema “Reforma Universitária de 1968”. Após 40 anos do fato histórico, portanto com uma visão relativamente de longa duração, defende-se a posição de que essa reforma deixou um legado positivo para a sociedade, mas que esse legado, muito mais que aos interesses econômicos das elites golpistas, deve ser atribuído à luta de resistência cívica de estudantes e professores, principalmente da década de 1960, que lutaram com denodo apontando um rumo adequado para a universidade trilhar em vista do desenvolvimento autônomo da Nação. Basta para tanto ver as motivações para o golpe civil-militar, os antecedentes históricos da reforma, o contexto e o processo de elaboração do projeto de lei da Reforma Universitária, bem como as leituras reflexivas que são feitas pela comunidade acadêmica à distância de hoje.

ABSTRACT
It’s a synthesis of the main historiography productions handle with the subject “the University Reformation 1968”. After 40 years of the historical fact, therefore with a vision relatively of long duration, defends it position of that this reform allowed a positive legacy for the society, but that this legacy, much more that to the economic interests of the coup-minded dominant groups, must be attributed to the fight of civic resistance of students and professors, mainly of the decade of 1960, that they had fought with bravery pointing an adjusted route it university to tread in sight of the development autonomous worker of the Nation.
