RESUMO

O presente artigo traz reflexões sobre questões de vida e de morte, abordando a Eutanásia como tema polêmico e central. O texto discute a eutanásia sob ponto de vista da legislação e suas implicações,principalmente no Brasil, onde temos um sistema de saúde precário.O artigo traz à tona os principais argumentos contra e a favor da eutanásia, citando casos de grande repercussão mundial. Desta forma, o principal questionamento é até que ponto temos o poder de interferir na vida e na morte do paciente terminal, nas suas escolhas e no seu livre arbítrio, bem como assegurar a ele a melhor forma de se atravessar o “portal” da grande transição chamada morte.

ABSTRACT

This article brings up reflection about issues of life and death, as approaching the Euthanasia central and polemic theme. The text discusses the euthanasia in terms of legislation and its implications, especially in Brazil, where we have a precarious health system. The article brings up the main arguments against and in favor of euthanasia, mentioning great repercussion cases worldwide. In fact, the main question is in what extent do we have the power to interfere in the in the life and death of terminal patients in their choices and its self-determination, as well as ensure the best way to go through the "gateway" the great transition called death.
