SOME – used in aff. sentences (C/ U) – questions (requests and offers): • I’ve got some work to do. I’m busy! • Can I have some sugar, please? ANY – neg. sentences and questions (C/ U), and aff. sentences =‘it doesn’t matter which’: • Do you have any luggage? • You can catch any bus. NO – used with a noun (C/ U), the verb has tobe in the aff. form: • No news is good news. • I have no friends and no money!!

Indefinite Pronouns
• Affirmative sentences: somebody/someone; something; somewhere • Negative sentences and questions: anybody/anyone;anything; anywhere • Verb in the affirmative form but the meaning of the sentence is negative: nobody/no one; nothing; nowhere
