Tesouros
The text debates on Intangible Cultural Heritage within the Portuguese context, namely on the legal, institutional and scientific issues that must be taken into consideration in order to implement the inventory of ICH at a national level, which constitutes a duty of the Institute for Museums and Conservation. The text also debates on the most complex questions raised by UNESCO’s 2003 Convention on its regard to the Portuguese context, as well as the main strengths which must be taken into account for that strategy, namely innovative legal paradigms, adequate to the specificity of ICH, as well as inventories produced for more than one century by Anthropology and related social sciences.
