O SERVIÇO SOCIAL FRENTE À CRISE CONTEMPORÂNEA: DEMANDAS E PERSPECTIVAS∗

Resumo: O presente artigo tem como objetivo contribuir para uma reflexão sobre as demandas e perspectivas da profissão, a partir das determinações particulares da crise contemporânea sobre as condições objetivas e subjetivas nas quais a profissão se insere, tendo em vista as transformações operadas pelo movimento das classes sociais no atual estágio do capitalismo.

Busca-se determinar a natureza da crise e as transformações que ela engendra no mundo do trabalho e na subjetividade dos trabalhadores de maneira geral, e em especial, no âmbito do Serviço Social. A hipótese é a de que as mudanças macrosocietárias produzem alterações nas demandas profissionais, nos espaços de intervenção, modificam as expressões das questões sociais, provocam uma redefinição/reconfiguração dos objetos de intervenção, atribuem novas funções à profissão e novos critérios para a aquisição de novas legitimidades.

SOCIAL SERVICE FACING CONTEMPORARY CRISIS: demands and perspectives

Abstract: The aim of the present article is to contribute to the reflection over the demands and perspectives of the profession, considering the particular determinations of the contemporary crisis over the objective and subjective conditions surrounding the profession, by taking into account the transformations operated by the social classes movement within the current stage of capitalism. This article attempts to determine the nature of the crisis and the transformations it causes in the world of labour and in the subjectivity of the workers in general, particularly within the scope of Social Work.
