Abstract. The scenario presented in the major software companies, usually is characterized by a manager wich is responsible for more than one project, each of them requiring a different amount of resources. To produce such projects with quality and efficiency, is necessary human resources planning and monitoring. Currently, the information’s generated in the plans are stored in large databases, resulting in a huge volume of information, making the analysis of data often difficult and complicated. Based on this context, we developed a prototype that uses Business Intelligence (BI) concepts, which makes the analysis of information faster and dynamic, allowing managers to have different views of the projects and the resources under their supervision.
We use the SQL Server 2005® Database Management System to create a database, which was loaded with data from Microsoft Project 2003® a
Microsoft project management software. As a tool that supports the concepts of BI, we used a software called Qlik View®, which generates dynamic charts and graphs. Thus, the data presented can be manipulated by making it possible to submit the same information in several ways, offering the manager quick and clear analysis of the information of interest.
