RESUMO:

Estudos evidenciam que o selênio em sua forma orgânica, possui ação eficaz no combate aos radicais livres gerados pelo estresse oxidativo que consequentemente, acaba prevenindo e até mesmo atuando como fármaco em diversas doenças graves como o câncer, diabetes, entre outras.
Amplamente utilizado em produtos antissépticos, antifúngicos, em talcos e xampus contra a seborreia e caspa. Estudos mais aprofundados sobre a toxicologia do selênio e recomendação de ingestão deste mineral-traço estão sendo realizadas haja visto que o limite entre a dose que beneficia o organismo e a que pode ocasionar efeitos nocivos, não está seguramente estabelecida. ABSTRACT:

Studies show that selenium in its organic form, has effective action in combating the free radicals generated by oxidative stress which consequently ends up preventing and even acting as a drug in several serious diseases such as cancer, diabetes, among others. Widely used in antiseptic products, antifungals, shampoos and powders in against dandruff and seborrhea.
Further studies on the toxicology of selenium and recommended intake of this trace mineral are being held there since the boundary between the dose that benefits the body and that can cause harmful effects, is not securely established. Keywords: Selenium , Pharmaceuticals , Cosmetics
