(THE BENEFITS OF WORKPLACE EXERCISE AND POSSIBLE
REASONS FOR IT ISN’T IMPLANTED)

1Centro Universitário UNIFAFIBE – Bebedouro, São Paulo, Brasil karynna_btos@hotmail.com Abstract: The Workplace Exercise (WE) seeks to improve the quality of life of employees and company performance. Thus, this study, through literature review, check out the benefits of
WE for the employee and for the company and to identify possible reasons for nonimplementation of the WE. For the realization of this literature search was performed a search in journals and books about WE, income at the company and worker health, based on data from Google scholar, in the period from 2001 to 2012. The results indicated that the few studies found some benefits not found with the WE health and workers' earnings.
However, most studies have surveyed found positive results after WE. Among the main results is the improvement in quality of life and self-esteem, reducing shortages in employment and medical clearances for injuries on the job, in addition to lowering body fat percentage and accidents during office hours. Despite these benefits, we found that employees are not motivated to perform WE. It can be concluded from this study that there is a relationship between WE and practice of reducing accidents at work, the symptoms of pain, absence from employment and increase income of the employee, improving the physical, social and psychological workers. With this, we can say that the WE provides benefits for employees and the company. Regarding the reasons companies do not deploy the
WE, there are no studies to clarify this issue. This suggests an important area for future research. Keywords: Workplace Exercise. Quality of life. Productivity.
