PROBLEM
Favela vs. Rainforrest Segregation Wall-area vs. Funiculaire-area
RESEARCH QUESTION
How to break down the barrier the wall represents, without letting the favela spread beyond the limits?
VISION
The vision is to preserve the limit between the favela and the rainforrest, transforming the wall, and use the rainforrest as an active design element. The vision is also to improve the empty area next to it, by making a recreative open space - a space of possibilities.
recreative open space
2 RAINFORREST+FAVELA
CONCEPT
Finishing the segregation between the favela and the nature, transforming the empty space in a green space, with a path conecting the several squares. The decision about the uses of the squares are up to the population, in a cooperative process. And changing the concept of the wall, instead of an element of segregation, an element of integration.
