Presente continuo

Chapter 02 Presente Progressivo ou Presente Continuo Em inglês, chamado de ‘Present Progressive’ ou ‘Present Continuous’, traduzido para Presente Progressivo ou Presente Contínuo, este tempo verbal é formado pelo: VERBO TO BE NO PRESENTE (AMIS-ARE) + O VERBO PRINCIPAL SEGUIDO DE -ING, e deve ser usado ao: - descrever ações que estejam acontecendo no momento da fala; - descrever ações que estejam acontecendo ao redor do momento da fala (um pouco antes, um pouco depois); - descrever ações temporárias; - falar de uma ação que acontecerá num futuro próximo. A tradução quase sempre pode ser feita literalmente, o que facilita bastante e que pode servir de ‘prova real’. Apenas quando estivermos usando o Presente Progressivo para expressar o futuro, temos que lembrar de tal fato e adaptar a tradução ou compreensão. Lembre que -ing corresponde a -ndo em português. Exemplos de frases no Presente Contínuo / Presente Progressivo: a) I am driving. → Eu estou dirigindo. b) You are studying a lot now. → Você está estudando muito agora. c) Are they speaking English? → Estão eles falando inglês? d) What are you doing tonight? → O que você vai fazer hoje a noite? (futuro) e) She is not coming to the party. → Ela não está vindo à festa. (ou) Ela não virá à festa (futuro). f) They are not working. → Eles não estão trabalhando. Como o Presente Contínuo / Presente Progressivo é usado para descrever ações que estão acontecendo no momento ou
