1.1 VERB TO BE

The verb to be has two meanings.
For example:

I am Sandra.

I am in my house.

The verb to be can also used for short.

The possessives adjectives used to say that a person has possession of (or has) something.

1.1.6 Pronouns

Indicate the person (subject) of the phrase.

1.1.7 How many/ How much

MUCH and MANY are used to demonstrate the amount.

Use MANY for things countable.
Use MUCH for things uncountable.

For example:

We have many friends.

I drink much water.

EXCEPTION

Use MUCH for money and time.

INTERROGATIVE STATEMENTS

How many books are in the library?
How much is this book?

1.1.8 Use A /AN andPronouns Demonstratives

Use the article A with consonants.
Use the article AN with vowels.

For example:

A banana
An apple

EXCEPTION

Use An for hour. And A for university and uniform.

PRONOUNS DEMONSTRATIVES

Demonstratives pronouns serve to indicate something. They are: this, that, these, those.

The pronoun THIS must be used in the singular and when something is close tothe person.

EXAMPLE: This is my new bike.

The pronoun THAT must be used in the singular and when something is away from the person.

EXAMPLE: That house is very big.

The pronoun THESE must be used in the plural and when something is close to the person.

EXAMPLE: These are their books.

The pronoun THOSE must be used in the singular and when something is away from the person.EXAMPLE: Those are Mike’s notebooks.

1.1.9 Prepositions

The prepositions is IN, ON, NEXT TO, UNDER, AT, BETWEEN.

Use the preposition IN for months, years and time of day.
Use the preposition ON for days and dates.
Use the preposition AT for places and clocks.

Examples:
IN
In December is my birthday.
In 1994 I was born.
In the morning I study.
ON
On Friday I go to Centro de...
