My presentation is about Alex Grey
Alex Grey was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 29 in 1953. Grey is an American artist specializing in spiritual and psychedelic art (or visionary art). The themes of death and transcendence weave throughout his artworks, from the earliest drawings to later performances, paintings and sculpture.
When he was a child he had the fascination for the unknown so he collected insects and dead animals from the neighborhood and bury them in the back yard. Before Alex starting his career as a painter, he had experienced LSD with his wife and he also studied the human body in the anatomy department. the knowledge he gained through medicine, transfered to his art doing medical illustration.
“The Sacred Mirrors” is a masterpiece that took him 10 years to complete and through it, managed to get his own style. This book takes the viewer on a journey toward their own divine nature by examining, in detail, the body, mind, and spirit. The Sacred Mirror, present the physical and subtle (sadle) anatomy of an individual in the context of cosmic, biological and technological evolution.
The paintings shows how to examine the body, mind and spirit (in detail) and the way he draw it (trought the “x-ray”) givesDicionário the work of multiple layers of reality (a kind of 3D) that revel the anatomy and inner strength. After Grey applied the method to several humans experiments, meditation, kissing, mating (meiting), pregnancy, birth, nursing and dying.
