* George Walker Bush was born on 6th July 1946 in New Haven is an American politician, was the 43rd president of the United States between 2001 and 2009 and the 46th governor of Texas, between 1995 and 2000.

* George is the eldest son of George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. After graduating from Yale University in 1968 and Harvard Business School in 1975, Bush worked in the oil company of his family. He married Laura Welch in 1977 and unsuccessfully ran for the House of Representatives for immediately afterwards. In a close and controversial election, Bush was elected President in 2000 as a Republican candidate receiving the most electoral votes, but lost the popular vote to Al Gore.

* Bush ran successfully for reelection against Democrat John Kerry in 2004, winning 50.7% of the popular vote against 48.3% of your opponent. After his re-election, Bush received increasingly fervent criticism from conservatives. In 2005, the Bush administration has suffered widespread criticism over the handling of Hurricane Katrina. In December 2007, the United States entered the longest recession in post-World War II. This led the Bush administration to take more direct control of the economy, adopting various economic programs aimed at preserving the country's financial structure. Though Bush was a popular president in his first term, his popularity has declined dramatically in the second term.

* After leaving his job in 2009, he held by his successor, Barack Obama, Bush returned Texas. He is currently a public speaker and author of a book that talks about his life and his presidency, titled Decision
