Hugo Cabret is an orphan boy who lives hidden in central Paris train 1930s. Sneaking in secret passages, Hugo takes the place of the giant clock: listen to your beats, notes the tremendous pointers and is responsible for the operation of machines.

Survival depends on the anonymity of Hugo: he tries to stay invisible because it saves an incredible secret, which is put at risk when severe toy store owner and his goddaughter station cross the path of the boy.

The book is divided in 2 parts and reading is super fast, can be made in a few hours despite having 533 pages, since most pages are illustrations.
Hugo lives with his Uncle in a train station since his father died in a fire at the museum where he worked, and where he met and was engaged in repairing an automaton - mechanical man.

Uncle Hugo is responsible for maintaining the station clocks and soon the boy learned the job well. And it was very helpful when uncle suddenly disappeared.
