Results and findings obtained are presented. Keywords: Wind standards, autonomous wind systems, power performance evaluation, electrical systems, small wind turbines Introduction In parallel to the important development of the wind energy market based in multi-megawatt wind farms world wide, and particularly in Spain, the market for autonomous electrical systems using small wind turbines is becoming an increasing attractive business. However some barriers and drawbacks have been identified for their development, as for example the lack of reliability of the existing products in the market. Hunter, Skivington and Ravey stated in the report “Performance Evaluation Methodologies for small wind energy systems” [1], that the reason for the delay in the development of the global potential market for small wind systems, is largely related to the inability of the supplier, to guarantee the performance of the systems which are provided. Crick, Fraenkel et al. in the report “Small Stand-Alone wind systems: Developing a methodology for Standardising Performance claims” [2], say that the development of a methodology for standardisation of performance claims for small wind systems, will assist the rational development and market expansion o stand –alone wind systems, f avoiding the situation where end-users are disappointed as a result of buying on the basis of misunderstood performance claims.
