Creating a Physical Education Curriculum in the 21st Century
1. What knowledge, understanding, attitudes and characteristics do we want our pupils to learn in and through Physical Education?
We want pupils to learn: How to: formulate rules, concepts, tactics, strategies, exercise patterns, compositional ideas, choreographic principles, etc. And in specific activities: How to: outwit opponents, problem solve, replicate accurately, express and communicate, perform at maximum output, exercise for health and wellbeing

We want pupils to learn: balance co-ordination. Control of: • large motor movements • fine motor movements.

We want pupils to learn: how to exercise safely and effectively to grow: • muscles • body organs • bones. And how to develop: strength, speed, stamina and suppleness

What is Physical Education about for each learner?

The confident thinking being

We want pupils to learn: why PE, sport, dance and physical activity are important and a love for physical activity and a commitment to it. And also: enjoyment, confidence, aspiration, determination, wellbeing.
