I’m going to talk about Jamaica , as we know it is the country of the reggae and there are other musical genres such as ska,( that is mix of Caribbean and American elements- calypso, jazz, mento, blues) mento,( it’s a kind of folk music that influenced other musical style like: ska, reagge and rocksteady) ,rocksteady,( that is next to the ska and ragae, the lyrics of this style talk about social themes. Dub (this genere consists of instrumental remixes, and more recently, dancehall and raga (it’s a kind of electronic music. This country also played an important role in the development of punk-rock. Raggae has also nfluenced American rap music, as they both share their roots as rhythmic, African styles of music. Some rappers, such as The Notorious B.I.G. and Heavy D, are of Jamaican descent. Internationally known reggae musician Bob Marley was also Jamaican.
