CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
This study proposes to analyze domestic violence against women, especially women with financial independence in relation to their partners. The choice of subject was due to observation, within the family, the existence of cases of women with paid employment who suffer and undergo domestic violence, which aroused the curiosity to learn and better understand the phenomenon.
The analysis will be based on the perspective of gender relations, as we believe that this phenomenon has structural roots within societies where gender relations between social actors and are bound by unequal power.
