ABSTRACT – ABANDONMENT OF ELDERLY: PHILANTHROPIST REALITY IN A HOME OF PORTO
ALEGRE – RS – Aging is a natural event in the life cycle, at which stage it begins to undergo changes, both physical and psychological, often need special care, more attention and affection. This research aimed to try to understand the reasons in which many asylum seekers currently ha elderly also your routine in the institution and how the body is composed of asylum. The first collection of interviews were conducted with management of asylum and the second part of the interview was conducted with the elderly in a nursing home in the city of Porto Alegre. The great part was said to asylum by choice and feel happy, and some sometimes receive visits from family. The structure of asylum has the capacity to accommodate everyone, but to improve the lives of older people are investing in new facilities, with the help of big companies. The elderly seek for homes with the intention of having a better quality of life.

RESUMO – Envelhecer é um acontecimento natural do ciclo da vida, é nesta fase que se começa a passar por mudanças, tanto físicas quanto psicológicas, precisando muitas vezes de cuidados especiais, mais atenção e carinho. A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo tentar entender os motivos no qual atualmente ha tantos idosos asilados, também sua rotina na instituição e como é composto o corpo do asilo. A primeira coleta da entrevista foi feita com a administração do asilo e a segunda parte da entrevista foi realizada com os idosos em um lar na cidade de Porto Alegre.
