Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir as problemáticas da utilização das imagens fotográficas na pesquisa histórica. Com relação à conjunção História e Fotografia, este dueto se torna possível dentro do contexto de novidade das técnicas fotográficas num período de efervescência política, econômica e tecnológica propiciado pela Revolução Industrial, e sua relação com a diversificação do saber histórico a partir de 1930, em decorrência da École des
Annales. Nesse momento a fotografia passa a fazer parte da composição do conhecimento histórico. Por conseguinte, para amparar o historiador na análise histórica a exemplo da interdisciplinaridade proposta pelos Annales, abordaremos metodologias para o tratamento de imagens. ___________________________________________________________________________

This article aims to discuss the problems of the use of photographic images in historical research.
