RESUMO:

O presente estudo tem como objetivo apresentar propostas mioterápicas para paciente com alterações miofuncionais da articulação temporomandibular (ATM), após procedimento cirúrgico Buco-Maxilo-Facial, e verificar eficácia dos procedimentos fisioterapêuticos, como as técnicas de eletrofototermoterapia, cinesioterapia passiva e ativa, facilitação neuromuscular proprioceptiva, massoterapia estimulante e relaxante, assim como técnicas de relaxamento para a musculatura cervical e cintura escapular. Emprega-se, neste estudo, o delineamento de um único sujeito, observando-se quantitativa e qualitativamente o tônus da musculatura mastigatória, da mímica facial, bem como as atividades funcionais estáticas e dinâmicas, que envolvem a sensibilidade, a motricidade voluntária e a coordenação motora dos movimentos, através de avaliação e reavaliações fisioterápicas.

ABSTRACT:

This case study aims at presenting myotherapeuthic proposals for patient with myofunctional disorders in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), further to buccomaxilofacial surgery, and evaluate the effects of physiotherapeutic proceedings, such as electrophotothermotherapy, passive and active kinesitherapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, stimulating and relaxing massotherapy, as well as techniques for relaxation of the cervical and scapular region muscles. For this purpose, in this study, only one subject was selected, having been analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively, the tonus of the masticatory muscles, the facial mimetic muscles, along with the static and dynamic functional activities, which involve sensitivity, voluntary motor skills and the motor coordination of movements, by means of physiotherapeutic evaluation and reevaluations.
