Resumo
Considerando a importância da variação linguística no ensino de Língua Portuguesa, este trabalho realiza uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a temática e faz análise de duas capas da revista Veja, com o objetivo de mostrar que a mídia incute a visão de certo e errado ao falar dos usos da Língua Portuguesa e ao enfatizar o domínio da norma culta à ascensão social, sem considerar as outras formas de uso da língua, pode auxiliar na propagação do preconceito linguístico. A base teórica principal é a Sociolinguística, mas também conta com as contribuições da Semiótica greimasiana.

Abstract
Considering the importance of linguistic variation in the teaching of the Portuguese language, this paper reviews the literature on the subject and makes analysis of two cases of Veja magazine, in order to show that the media instills the vision of right and wrong when talking about the uses Portuguese Language and emphasize the field of cultural norms for social mobility, without considering other forms of language use, can assist in the spread of linguistic prejudice. The theoretical basis is the main sociolinguistics, but also relies on the contributions of semiotics greimasian.
