REVOLUÇÃO CUBANA: A CRISE DOS ANOS 90 E A REDEFINIÇÃO DOS RUMOS
DO SOCIALISMO

Resumo
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o contexto político, econômico e social de Cuba entre o final da década de 80 e meados da década de 90, quando o país enfrentou uma de suas mais graves crises desde o início da revolução: o “Período Especial em Tempos de Paz”. Através do estudo dessa crise e das reformas que se seguiram a ela, procuro compreender o processo de redefinição dos rumos do socialismo cubano. No entanto, não acredito que essas reformas representem uma crise de hegemonia do socialismo. Elas são, na verdade, uma peça fundamental para se pensar na redefinição das relações entre a sociedade política e a sociedade civil cubanas e na reconstituição de um bloco histórico revolucionário, em prol de uma rearticulação da hegemonia do socialismo cubano, sobre novas bases.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyse the social, political and economical context lived by the cubans in the period between the end of the eighties and the middle of the nineties, when the country faced one of the most serious crisis since the beginning of the revolution: the “Special
Period in Times of Peace”. Through the study of that crisis and the reforms which came after it, I try to understand the process which led the cuban socialism to a new tendency. However, I do not believe that those reforms represent a hegemony crisis of socialism. Actually, they are essential to help us think about the new tendency of the relations between the political and the civilian cuban society, as well as about the reconstitution of a revolutionary historical bloc for the rearticulation of the cuban socialism hegemony, under new bases.
