Abstract
Nuclear pollution is caused by improper disposal or leakage of radioactive waste from various sources that use nuclear energy, for example, nuclear power plants or x-ray apparatus, and is characterized by high degree of dangerousness due to capacity cause changes in the structure of cells, thereby causing changes in the organism as a whole.
In practice, nuclear waste pollutes less than regular waste produced by industries and households because the former has a strict control allocation and management while the second is everywhere and although legally should, is not well managed. A large and important difference is that nuclear waste has the ability to remain active for thousands of years requiring constant monitoring and, in case of an accident the consequences are much worse and may even cause damage for generations.
With the creation of new nuclear plants for power generation the amount of waste that must be stored, will also increase. These residues are derived not only from nuclear power plants, but throughout the process, from the stage of mining to the final stage of the nuclear fuel reprocessing.
In fact, the large current resistance to the use of nuclear energy is concentrated in the production and management of radioactive waste generated by the plants.
