The cuisine of India is characterized by a wide variety of regional styles andsophisticated use of herbs and species. Staple foods are made with rice and wheat. Species such as black pepper which are now consumed worldwide are originally native tothe Indian subcontinent. The chili, which was introduced by the Portuguese, is also widely used in Indian cuisine. The traditional clothing varies depending on thecolors and styles according to region and depends on various factors is the more traditional sari and dhoti. The music covers a wide tradition of regional styles.
