INVESTIGAÇÃO DO DESFLORESTAMENTO DO CERRADO PARA A
IMPLANTAÇÃO DA AGRICULTURA INTENSIVA

Resumo:
Este trabalho busca analisar o desmatamento do Cerrado no sudeste do Piauí por meio de imagens de satélite no período de 1984 à 2010. Foram empregadas técnicas como o cálculo do índice NVDI e a Classificação supervisionada que se mostraram eficientes ferramentas para analisar extensas áreas. Outra ferramenta utilizada foi o SIDRA – Sistema IBGE de
Recuperação Automática, onde foram adquiridos dados a respeito da produção agrícola desta região. Por meio da análise destes dados e do processamento das imagens, constata-se que o
Cerrado tem sido consideravelmente desmatado para a implantação da agricultura intensiva.

Abstract:
This work analyzes the deforestation of the Savanna in southeastern Piauí through satellite images from 1984 to 2010. Techniques were employed to calculate the bands NVDI and supervised classification which proved to be efficient tools to analyze large areas. Another tool used was the SIDRA – Sistema IBGE de Recuperação Automática where data was acquired in respect of agricultural production in this region. By analyzing these data and image processing, it appears that the Savanna has been cleared for deployment of intensive agriculture. Key-words:
