Éditions Gallimard (pronounced: [edisjɔ̃ ɡalimaːʁ]) is one of the leading French publishers of books. The Guardian has described it as having "the best backlist in the world".
A backlist is a list of older books available from a publisher, as opposed to titles newly published (sometimes called the frontlist). "The backlist is the financial backbone of the book industry, accounting for 25 to 30 percent of the average publisher's sales," wrote The New York Times. "Current titles, known as the front list, are often a gamble: they can become best sellers, but they are much more likely to disappear in a flood of returns from bookstores. By contrast, backlist books usually have predictable sales and revenues."
The guardian está entre os jornais mais populares do Reino Unido.

The University of Chicago Press is the largest and one of the oldest university presses in the United States.[1] It is operated by the University of Chicago and publishes a wide variety of academic titles, including The Chicago Manual of Style, numerous academic journals, and a wide array of advanced monographs in the academic fields. “Since its founding in 1891 as one of the three original divisions of the University of Chicago, the Press has embraced as its mission the obligation to disseminate scholarship of the highest standard and to publish serious works that promote education…” < descrição da missão da editora da UCP no próprio site.
