RESUMO
O crédito fácil e o encarecimento dos gêneros de primeira necessidade têm levado o consumidor a se endividar, forçando-o a comprometer até mesmo os valores historicamente reservados para suprir os chamados gastos essenciais, como alimentação, moradia, contas de água, luz e telefone. Nesse sentido, o presente artigo traz uma proposta de discussão sobre a educação para o consumo como tema transversal por meio da criação do Programa de Educação e Tratamento do Superendividamento do
Consumidor, visando o cumprimento à função social da instituição que o adotar, mediante o resgate, ao consumidor, de sua dignidade como devedor, orientando-o a reingressar na sociedade de consumo, mas, dessa vez, com consciência e verdadeira capacidade de visualizar o alcance de suas finanças.

The easy credit and price increasing of the sorts of first necessity have taken the consumer if to become indebted, taking it to compromise it even though the historically private values to supply the calls essential expenses, as feeding, housing, accounts of water, light and telephone.
