Introduction.

Humanity faces serious global problems nowadays, from poverty and starvation to species extinction and climate change. All these problems affect all human beings in some sort of way depending on the location, social status, genre etc.; however none of them seems to be so high scaled as theenvironmental issues.
Nature, as part of its own system, changes constantly, but the way humans produce their lives accelerates and mutates its natural status in an unsustainable way. It happens because our economic production and consumption have not been balanced to the world`s natural reconstruction temporality.
Capitalism, our actual production and political model, has as its main target andobjective the generation of profits, outcomes and interests independently of the consequences. Every day humans emit into the atmosphere thousands of tons of carbon dioxide and other more powerful pollutants and greenhouse gasses. Cars, factories, energy and power generation, mining; every single economic sector contributes for an unsustainable way of life that is killing this planet and our chancesof surviving.
Despite this scenario is very well known for many politicians, scientists, NGOs and general public a very few individuals understand completely how dangerous the tourism sector is into this general picture.
For the last 30 years the number of domestic flights, cruise ships and hotel construction raised impressively. Sectors which 30 years ago had provided activities very restrictedfor a few rich people nowadays comprise almost everyone in the middle class, especially in Europe and the USA. In fact, tourism for fun and/or for business has been introduced as a new aspect into human culture.
All these activities produce really high amounts of carbon dioxide and other pollutants as well as financial centralization, local poverty, environmental impacts and local culturaldestruction.
Although this destructive global scenario companies, institutions and governments have been trying to find out or develop new alternatives for human life production and it has been happening in the tourism sector as well. Ecotourism has appeared as a valuable alternative to keep this important sector of economic running as well as educating people and conserving fragile naturalenvironments such as rainforests, marina corals and mangroves.
In this assignment it will be analysed conceptions (or/and misconceptions) and definitions of tourism and ecotourism as well as how these parts of the economy work, their impacts, regulations and characteristics.
Concepts of Tourism

The first step to understand how this sector of economy affects our lives and the alternatives to changeit is to understand its concepts and definitions. The World Tourism Organization define tourist as a parson who goes, stays or travels to somewhere else outside their usual for less than a consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes.
Every year the number of tourists rises all around the world especially in Europe (mainly because the immigration policy and civil documentation...
