ABSTRACT: This paper aims at building a proposal for implementation of 5S and its pilot plan is in the warehouse sector of an electrical panels industry. In the current context, in which a strong competition between companies divides attention with a growing demand for life quality and satisfaction at work, it is of an increasing importance that there be an integrated approach between productivity/quality and people motivation in production environments. The 5S, beyond a program focused on quality, can also be understood as an educational process. However, despite having a literature very well established in terms of concepts and practical results reported, the 5S still lacks approaches focused on aspects of program implementation. As a methodological strategy for field research, the present study is based on a continuous interaction with company’s managers, concatenating theory of 5S and recommended forms of implementation with the particularities of the company. Interviews with professionals who have experienced other 5S implementation cases were also performed as a way of adjusting the proposed implementation plan to a final version. Such a version takes the warehouse sector as a pilot for future implementation of the 5S program across the whole company. The final proposal also aims to serve as a reference for companies that could be in similar context or even to guide other approaches of productivity programs implementation.
